Pleasant small place with great and fantastic location near tram stops and major tourist locations like museums or Albert Cuyp Market, the nearest metro and centre and museums. Very very good breakfast for the croissant and with fantastic food available.

It has good acces to city center and main atractions but is also in a quiet neigbourhood. For an easier access you have to rent a bike. From Center Train Station you have direct acces to the hotel with tram no 4 and 24. You have 15 min walk to Red Light and Zoo, 5-7 min to museum area and 2 min to main street market.

I liked the staff, they were very poly. The breakfast was nice and the location is good.
I didn't like that i had to go down stairs to collect a hair-dryer.

This hotel had a great location and it was easy to walk to most attractions or if lazy catch a tram. The staff were mainly nice with one or two exceptions and the breakfast was fine with just enough choices. The location was quiet and I got a good nights sleep on both nights stayed.
The rooms are very basic but comfortable. I was on the third floor which was up three amazingly steep stair cases very difficult if you have a disability or are just unfit. There was no lift and no-one around to help me with my bags! The sink in my room took about half an hour to drain but over all this is a good basic budget hotel in a good location.

The staff were great, each and every one of them was very nice, smiling and very helpful when we had problems (not to do with the hotel). The room was fine, very clean. The breakfast was also good. The hotel is very close to many of the city's attractions (Heineken Experience, Van Gogh's Museum, Rijksmuseum, etc).

It's a perfect value for money - location, access, staff friendship, breakfast were all great. This was the second time on Asterisk: I recommend it.

Location near to museums and canal
No lift, need to use narrow staircase, might not need good idea for older folks and with big heavy bags. Carpet is old and mouldy. Hard to find the hotel for first timers.

Convenient location near tram station Weteringcircuit.
Except for the lobby area, the hotel was in very poor condition. Our ground floor room smelled, the bathrooms were shabby and there was an old kitchen storage closet in our room with debris strewn about when we first arrived. Staff later locked the closet and tidied things up, but overall the price was way too high for the poor quality of our room. We were glad to go, despite a very friendly reception desk.

Charming architectural design, effective soundproofing measures, convenient transportation access
The narrow, steep staircases are a hassle for anyone with luggage!!! Some bathroom layouts felt cramped!!!

The location is great especially if you like walking everywhere. The people at the hotel itself are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is included which is a plus. I had a single room which was ample with a window that opened nice and wide to get the fresh air. I would definately recommend it.
I would liked to have had access to the computer late at night but that wasn't available. That's about it.

It was a good stay. The staff was excellent, really. However, the price didn't fit the hotel well. It was a bit too expensive for almost no facilities.
